First Aid & First Aid Refresher Courses

Those completing the 2 day First Aid course will learn to assess emergency situations and recognize common medical conditions.  Through hands-on and text book learning you will confidently be able to provide basic treatment for burns, shock, fractures and bleeding, employ the recovery position, perform CPR and reassure casualties, providing first aid until help arrives.  Where needed, graduates will be able to direct casualties to appropriate care and activate emergency ambulance services.  You will gain increased awareness of health promotion, safety and prevention of accidents. The one day refresher course will help you to keep your First Aid Certificate up to date.

Practical Training:

Practical learning is a component of this course using an interactive approach. Students will come away with vital life-saving knowledge that can be easily applied in every day situations. 

Qualification:

On successful completion of this course you will receive the:
 - Mahurangi Technical Institute First Aid Certificate.
 - Unit Standards can be accredited if required (optional - additional cost)
