Licence Controller Qualification
(in conjunction with NorthTec)

This training is a pre-requisite to applying for your Bar Managers Certificate.
This qualification is aimed at those people who are either already working in the industry or intending to be responsible for liquor sales and service and who are required to know the requirements and implications of the Sale of Liquor Act and its amendments on a day to day basis.


Qualification

On successfully passing their assessments graduates will receive the Hospitality Standards Institute Certificate of Achievement -  Licence Controller Qualfication, and will have their results passed on to NZQA for recording for:
Sale of Liquor Act - Unit Standard 4646.
Host Responsibility - Unit 16705.

Duration:

2 and a half days, 9am to 3pm.

Course 2/10: 19, 28, 29 Apr
Course 3/10: 1, 14, 15 Jun
Course 4/10: 16, 23, 24 Aug
Course 5/10: 27 Sep, 4, 5 Oct
Course 6/10: 1, 6, 7 Dec

Class Size:

Kept to a minimum.
 

Entry Requirement:

Domestic Students: Open. Preferably 18 years (or over). You cannot apply for a certificate until you are 18 years or over and currently working in the industry, however you are able to achieve the unit standards.

International students (those who are not NZ/Australian citizens or permanent residents and hold a work visa/permit) must be 18 years of age, have proof of current medical and travel insurance at time of enrolment and supply a copy of their current permit/visa on application.

Fees:

Domestic students: NZ$180.00 + GST per person
International Students: NZ$333.70 + GST per person

Accreditation: 

Course unit standards are accredited by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) and the Hospitality Standards Institute (HSI).
