Certificate in Wine

A fun and informative professional course for those who wish to learn more about wine in a personal or professional capacity. Learn about wine history, vineyard activity and winemaking, Old and New world wines, and taste and analyse a full range of wines.


Qualification:

On successful completion of this course candidates will receive:

  • Hospitality Standards Institute Certificate of Achievement -  Wine
  •  As well as the following Unit Standards:
    • Unit standard 4637 (Demonstrate knowledge of New Zealand Wines & Wine Producers
    • Unit standard 4638 (Demonstrate knowledge of imported wines)
    • Unit standard 22912 (Evaluate wine)
    • Unit standard 23060 (Demonstrate knowledge of vitaculture & wine making) 

Duration:

Run as either an evening course, 2 nights per week for 3 weeks (Mon/Tues, 6-9pm)
Or alternatively as a day course, 2 days per week for 2 weeks (Mon/Tues, 9am-3pm)

Entry Requirement:

Open. Under 18s require parental or guardian consent as this course includes wine tasting.
