CBES Boatmaster CertificateFor the recreational boatie with a conscience. Evening classes - 3 hours per night for 10 nights (+ exam). Royal Yachting Association (RYA) CoursesCBES/RYA Powerboat Level 2Basic powerboat handling and seamanship skills. RYA/CBES Day Skipper Practical - MotorcruiserA short course designed to teach pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boathandling for small motor cruisers. RYA/CBES Day Skipper Practical - SailA short course designed to teach pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boathandling for small cruising yachts. MCA/RYA Coastal Skipper (Motorcruising)4 week course includes - STCW95, navigation theory and 4 days practical training on a motorcruiser plus 1 day practical exam. For candidates wishing to enhance their skippering skills and coastal navigation. MCA/RYA Coastal Skipper (Sail)Enables you to skipper a vessel up to 24 metres and 60 nautical miles from a safe haven. The 6 week course starts with radar and a 5-day milebuilder at sea, followed by the 4 week course of navigation theory, practical sail training and STCW95. MCA/RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (Motorcruising)Run in conjunction with the Coastal Skipper course. Candidates' skippering and navigational skills are expected to be at a much higher level. 4 days practical with a high level of practical and theoretical tuition involved. MCA/RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (Sail)Open to those with good practical and skippering experience. Successful candidates are qualified to skipper a vessel up to 24 metres and 150 nautical miles offshore. RYA Yachtmaster Ocean TheoryA 6-day celestial navigation course for holders of the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore who wish to obtain the Yachtmaster Ocean qualification.
