The MTI (Mahurangi Technical Institute) Certificate in Superyacht Crewing will open up your world to a host of opportunities in the maritime industry.  There is an increasing need for qualified and professional people to keep up with this ever growing industry.  This certificate is your pathway to an exciting career sailing the waters of the world.

Practical Training

This 12-week hands-on course involves practical experience in all areas, including fire fighting, sea survival, helicopter safety, radar operation and even wine appreciation. The course also includes 5 days sail training at sea.

Duration:

12 weeks tuition. 

Class Size:

Maximum course numbers = 20 

Entry Requirement:

Open.  Suggested mininum age 17.  Due to practical elements in the Fire Fighting and Sea Survival courses, all candidates should be of reasonable fitness.  A Medical Certificate of Fitness is required from a qualified medical practitioner before being accepted onto the course.

Accreditation:

Unit Standards are accredited by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA).  Yachting certificates are accredited by United Kingdom's Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and New Zealand's Coast Guard Boating Education Services (CBES). STCW by Maritime New Zealand under the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
